Programme:

Bach Selection from the Well-tempered Clavier Book 1

Chopin Fantasie-Impromptu, Ballade No.3 Scherzo No 1.

Bach's 48 Preludes and Fugues need no introduction; they are not only the most famous pedagogical musical work every written but also great music. Jill's complete recording is released this year on Signum Classics.

Mozart's Piano Variations were written for teaching purposes, but also contain both wit and depth.

Beethoven's Op 126 Bagatelles were his last work for the piano and represent great compression and profundity within a short space.

Chopin's piano music took popular genres and transformed them from salon music to pieces suitable for the concert platform.

Jill is delighted to be participating in Wakefield Cathedral's attempt to develop its lunchtime concert series.
